根据世界卫生组织的数据,2020 年至 2030 年,全球 60 岁及以上人口将增加 40%,达到 14 亿。 虽然近几十年来预期寿命大幅提高,但由于与老龄化相关的问题,健康寿命(相对无病生存的年数)却落后于预期寿命。老龄化与生理、认知和新陈代谢功能的衰退密切相关,影响着人们的生活质量,并增加了对医疗保健的需求。近年来,研究者正积极探索认知能力下降与免疫系统功能障碍之间的关联机制,这一领域的进展有望为相关干预措施提供新的契机。围绕这一主题,重要研究聚焦于包括线粒体功能障碍、炎症反应以及细胞修复机制等潜在通路;同时近期研究也在探索补充多种维生素/矿物质改善老龄人群认知能力和免疫复原力的潜力。
本次半天论坛将邀请该领域的多位国内外专家,分享关于大脑老化与免疫功能衰退潜在机制的新近研究进展,重点探讨如何维护认知功能与增强免疫系统的复原力。会议还将围绕干预手段开展讨论,包括具有神经保护潜力的化合物及饮食干预等正在探索的策略。

Jialin Charles Zheng, M.D., is an internationally acclaimed medical scientist and visionary leader whose transformative impact has elevated Tongji University School of Medicine (TUSM) into a world-class academic health sciences center. As the Dean, Distinguished Professor of Neurology and Regenerative Medicine, and Director of the Brain and Spinal Cord Clinical Research Center at TUSM, he has championed a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Dr. Zheng's distinguished 24-year tenure at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in the USA, where he served as a Professor, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, laid a robust foundation for his international perspective. His scholarly credentials include an M.B. from Xuzhou Medical University and a Ph.D. in Neurology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, complemented by postdoctoral training at UNMC and a visiting scholarship at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

A leading expert in neuroinflammation and stem cell therapy for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and HIV-1 associated dementia, Dr. Zheng has led numerous NIH-funded and international research projects. His prolific scientific contributions include authorship of over 260 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters, and he has been honored with prestigious awards including the UNMC Gilmore Outstanding Young Investigator Award (2005) and the UNMC Outstanding Investigator Award (2008).

Andrea B. Maier (1978), a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), graduated in Medicine (MD) 2003 from the University of Lübeck (Germany), was registered 2009 in The Netherlands as Specialist in Internal Medicine-Geriatrics and was appointed Full Professor of Gerontology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (The Netherlands) in 2013. She was the head of Geriatrics at the Vrije Universiteit Medical Center from 2012 to 2016. From 2016 to early 2021 Professor Maier served as Divisional Director of Medicine and Community Care at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia, and as Professor of Medicine and Aged Care at the University of Melbourne, Australia. She continued her career at the National University of Singapore as Director of the Centre for Healthy Longevity.

Howard D. Sesso, ScD, MPH, FAHA
Dr. Howard D. Sesso is an Associate Epidemiologist at the Division of Preventive Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He designs and conducts randomized clinical trials and epidemiologic studies, focusing on dietary supplements, nutrition, and lifestyle factors to prevent cardiovascular disease (CVD), hypertension, cancer, and other aging-related outcomes.
Dr. Sesso is Associate Director of the Division of Preventive Medicine and Director of Nutrition and Supplement Research at the Osher Center for Integrative Health. Dr. Sesso has been involved in several major trials at the Division of Preventive Medicine, helping lead the Physicians’ Health Study (PHS), conducting several ancillary studies in the VITamin D and OmegA-3 TriaL, and co-leading the COcoa Supplement and Multivitamin Outcomes Study (COSMOS). He has also conducted several small-scale clinical trials testing dietary supplements and nutrition, plus initiated an Epigenetics Working Group stemming from several research grants across PHS, VITAL, and COSMOS. He has published extensively, teaches courses on clinical trials and epidemiology, and enjoys mentoring students and junior faculty.

Dr. Yichuan Xiao’s lab is mainly devoted to investigating the regulation and pathogenic mechanism of immune aging. In recent years, he has been published as corresponding author in Cell (2025), Nat Immunol (2025), Immunity (2021), Nat Aging (2024), Cell Rep Med (2024), J Exp Med (2018, 2020 2021), Mol Cell (2021), Nat Commun (2018, 2019), etc., and developed several novel small molecule lead compounds targeting immune aging. He was awarded the Young Emerging Talent Award of Shanghai Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Outstanding Tutor Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Leading Goose Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a member of the Anti-Aging Branch of the Chinese Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics, etc.
